EARs stands for Emergency Assistance & Response Services, EARs provides better alternatives to personal safety features.

2. How did EARs started?
EARs started purely from 1 guy providing assistance to his friends in all sorts of auto and personal emergency assistance. The demand grew and soon EARs developed into a full fledge professional service provider.

You can edit your membership from logging on here. Key in your username and password and submit.

2. Can I use EARs services if I do not have a smartphone?
Yes you can by simply dialing our hotline number @ 1300-22-0123 for Malaysians or +603-79653839 for overseas when you need an assistance.

3. Where do I go to update my account or particulars?
You can update your membership from logging on at www.ears.my. Key in your username and password and submit.

4. How will I know when my account will expire?
You can view the expiry date from the membership page here

5. Where can I read the terms & conditions for EARs membership?

6. Can more than 1 person share the same account? eg. husband & wife 1 account
No, each account is only for 1 person and 1 device. It cannot be shared.


BRASS

1. What does BRASS stands for?
BRASS stands for Breakdown Rescue & Assistance

2. What does BRASS membership provide?
BRASS membership provides state of the art automotive assistance leveraging on cutting edge mobile technology to bring you swift assistance at the touch of your fingertips.

3. How much does it cost to sign up for BRASS membership?
You have options to sign-up for 2 years (RM130 with RM20 discount), 1 year (RM75), 1 month (RM10) or 1 week (RM5). Multiple options depending on your needs and commitment level.

4. What are the coverage area for BRASS?
EARs BRASS coverage is within Peninsular Malaysia (excluding all islands, except Penang and Langkawi) and East Malaysia (not exceeding a radius of 25kms from major city centres such as Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan, Tawau, Labuan, Sibu, Bintulu, Miri, Kuching or along the Pan Borneo highway).

5. Can EARs BRASS cover me when I travel to Singapore, Brunei, Thailand or other countries?
Yes, EARs will be able to assist you to locate the local breakdown assistance provider however EARs will not cover any cost for any service rendered or spare parts provided. Members will be required to settle all cost involved directly with the local service providers.

6. Can EARs BRASS cover another car that doesn't belong to me that I am currently driving? eg. my friend's or rented car?
No, EARs BRASS can only cover the car that belongs to you and that is registered in the system. You can register up to 2 cars that belongs to you.

PAL

1. What does PAL stands for?
PAL stands for Personal Alert.

2. What does PAL membership provide?
PAL is a service of assisting members in various panic situations or emergencies to relay vital info to their appointed emergency contacts of up to 5 persons

3. How much does it cost to sign up for PAL membership?
PAL comes FREE with BRASS membership. Soon we will have sign-up options for purely PAL memberships & serivices

4. What are the coverage areas for PAL?
Anywhere! EARs PAL is a global/international service coverage. Just as long as you're connected to wireless internet and on international roaming.

5. If I change my phone number to a foreign number when I travel, can I still be covered?
Yes! however be very sure to update us with the foreign number that you will be using by logging into the member's section at www.ears.my/login.php

6. If I decided to change my network service provider and my number changes, will I lose my EARs membership? Can I still use EARs' services with the existing membership?
You will not lose your membership and you do not need to register a new one, very simply log on to the member's section at www.ears.my and update your mobile number to the new one

AUTOMOTIVE ASSISTANCE

1. What kind of automotive assistance is provided?
EARs will provide FREE towing and FREE breakdown assistance to all EARs BRASS memberships

2. Do I need to pay for anything?
Towing & breakdown assistance is FREE up to the credit limit tied to the different membership plan. Only if extraordinary services i.e. to fetch members home or when spare parts are required i.e. change of battery or to buy petrol will the member require to pay for something.

3. Which workshop will my car be towed to?
Your car will be towed to the workshop of your choice. If you do not have any, we have an extensive list of panel workshops to tow your car to.

4. How do you assist members with police reporting? Workshop repairs? Insurance claims?
If you require advice or assistance, kindly call our call center at 1300-22-0123 (Malaysians only).

5. What are my credit limits?

1. Is the EARsAlert2 app available for all smartphones?
As of 20/12/11 the EARsAlert2 app is available for iPhone & Android, other platforms i.e. BlackBerry, Symbian, Mango is on its way. We take our time to develop our apps as we want to make very sure that all our apps runs perfectly due to the possibility of it being used in life or death situations. If you want to be notified of when the other platforms will be available, kindly proceed to our CONTACT page and submit your request.

2. Where can I download the EARsAlert2 app?
As of 20/12/11 it is available on iTunes for iPhones & Android Market for Android phones and very soon to be available for other platforms

3. Do I need to pay to download the app?
No, the download is FREE. You can also play around with the app simulating an active account in demo mode by simply clicking "Skip, proceed to demo"

4. How do I use the EARsAlert2 app?
EARsAlert2 app has been designed with extreme user friendliness in mind. For easy alerting the app sends an alert to the EARs emergency center automatically after 5 seconds after launch. The app is design with large icon based buttons (instead of words) to be understood globally regardless of language or culture. Just push the button / icon of the assistance you require and an EARs agent will be in touch with you swiftly.

5. Is EARsAlert2 app version 1 or version 2?
EARsAlert2 app is version 2, version 1 was developed in late 2009.

6. When was EARsAlert app created?
The EARsAlert app version 1 was created late 2009.

7. Is EARsAlert app the 1st in Malaysia?
At the launch of EARsAlert version 1 in 2009 there were no similar apps available so it is highly possible that it is 1st in Malaysia and possibly even globally.

8. Was EARsAlert developed in house by Malaysians?
Yes, EARsAlert2 and all it's systems was proudly developed in house by Malaysians for Malaysians and beyond.

PANIC ALERT

1. Who are my 5 emergency contacts?
You will require to appoint the 5 emergency contacts yourself. We HIGHLY encourage you to appoint family members and close friends that are close to your usual vicinity. We know for a fact that your family & friends will be the best to inform in an impending emergency as they will be the quickest to respond and they will do all it takes because very simply, they care for you.

2. How do I appoint my 5 emergency contacts?
You can update the list of emergency contact numbers on the app under settings (the picture of a gear) than click 'EMERGENCY CONTACTS', or proceed to www.ears.my/login.php, log in to your account and update it there.

3. What happens when I press the ALERT button?
Your alert will be sent to the EARs emergency center along with vital info such as your alert type, your particulars and most importantly your location. An EARs agent will get in touch with you within 30secs to a minute (depending on peak hour times) to attend to you. Your 5 emergency contacts will receive an SMS alert alerting them of your situation and will subsequently receive a call from an EARs agent to be sure that the SMS has been received (in case they were sleeping or in the toilet)

4. Who sends the SMS alerts to my emergency contacts?
As EARs is using an international tier 1 SMS gateway, EARs will send the alert on your behalf for FREE to ensure that your emergency contacts receives the alerts and quickly

5. Will EARs agent call the relevant authorities for me? Ie. Police, fire brigade and etc..
Because we highly encourage users to press the ALERT button anytime they feel a threat (anytime! even when you only 'feel' or 'think'), the alert comes to us first to be filtered & the next course of action will be determined along with your emergency contacts. We also know for a fact that the best people to inform of your emergency are your family and friends because they care for you the most and will do whatever it takes to rescue you.

Yes you can however for non-Malaysians the membership plans will be different in prices (to be updated soon)

No, but you should notify and get your parents approval before you sign up

You can sign up from our website at http://www.ears.my/reg.php or follow the instructions here to sign up via email, fax or postage.

4. How do I make payments for signing up?
If you sign up from the website, you have multiple convenient options to pay either via online banking, credit cards or PayPal. Alternatively you can sign up for the 1week or 1month membership via SMS and the chargers will go to your mobile bill or deducted from your prepaid credit limit.
