Every fuel injection engine is controlled by an ECU.
An ECU (Engine Control Unit) is a computer that ensures that your car’s engine gets the right mixture of air & fuel + at the correct timing for the best combustion.
A good combustion produces the best power output with minimum fuel.
Overtime due to different weather, temperature, humidity and engine condition; the tuning of the engine tends to run which causes a poor combustion.
A poor combustion causes;
1. Poor engine response
2. Poor engine power output
3. Increase in fuel consumption
4. Engine sounds funny
One of the major signs is that you will notice that you are getting lesser mileage per full tank compared when the car was still new or after your last engine tuning.
So, get your ECU re-tuned once in every 6months!
Most major service centres (Toyota, Honda, Mitsubishi, Proton, Hyundai) will be able to do the re-tuning for you at a cost.
